Frequently asked questions about ski prices
How can I pay less for my ski pass in 2026-2027?
Compare the three ways to pay: the ticket office price, multi-day passes and discount cards. OptiPass compares 19 cards in 111 resorts and 10 linked ski areas: a card such as Ski à la Carte (€29 per season) or Passe Montagne (€10 per season) lowers the price of every day, and a season pass pays off if you ski a lot. Enter your resort and your dates: the simulator calculates the cheapest option, membership included.
What is the difference between Ski à la Carte, Passe Montagne and Skipower?
Ski à la Carte (€29 per season): The card for the big Alpine ski areas: cheaper days, no queue at the ticket office. Passe Montagne (€10 per season): Cheaper passes in dozens of resorts all over France, bought online up to the last minute. Skipower is a reloadable card accepted in about 120 partner resorts, with a discount specific to each resort; OptiPass does not compare it yet, as no price list is published online.
When should I buy a season pass in presale (early booking)?
As early as possible: the presale is often much cheaper than the season price. For winter 2026-2027, the Portes du Soleil season pass costs €1,108 until 30 November 2026 (€1,303 afterwards), the Grand Massif one €732 until 15 November 2026 (€1,316 afterwards) and the N'PY Interstations pass €735 until 15 November 2026 (€1,049 afterwards). Some have no presale, such as the 3 Vallées pass (€1,620).
Do discount cards work during school holidays?
Yes, they remain valid during school holidays, but the discount is often smaller than on weekdays outside the holidays: with No Souci, for example, it is −15% at weekends and during the holidays, versus −30% on weekdays outside the holidays. The simulator applies the price of each date, holidays included.
Is a season pass worth it?
Yes, if you ski enough days: the La Plagne season pass costs €759, the price of 11 days at full price (€72.00 per day); every extra day is free. OptiPass compares 68 resort and ski area season passes with discount cards, for your dates.
